The sustainable, healthy alternative to plastic wrap!
Made from 100% locally-sourced (often organic) cotton coated in organic beeswax, these wraps offer a unique, BPA-free way to store your food. The beeswax has natural antibacterial properties and can create a seal. The warmth of your hands is all it takes to press the wrap against glass or another part of the wrap for closure.
The wraps can be used for about a year before the wax coating is degraded. A “spent” wrap can be added to your compost heap.
To care for the wraps, wash only in COLD water, rubbing the dish soap all over with your hands, and hang on your dish rack to dry. Warm or hot water would quickly degrade the wax. Think of it like washing clothes in cold water: even your dirty undies come out clean because of the soap and agitation of the washing machine.
Use your wraps to secure cheese, fruit, veggies, and breads. We do not recommend using directly with meat, although wrapping a sandwich containing meat, or covering a dish containing meat (after the dish has cooled) is just fine.
